I won an online auction from a wholesale dealer a few weeks ago and my boatload of gadgets came in yesterday. There were a lot of items that worked, and some that didn't. A gem that I found was a nearly brand new Sony DSC-T100 camera.
The other was a Canon Elura 100 MiniDV Camcorder. The things looks brand new and it appears to function normally. I can record video to SD cards and to MiniDV tapes, but it doesn't appear to be picking any sound at all. I can however hear sound through the speaker when I go through menus -- I hear the regular beeps and boops.
When trying to playback recorded video, all I hear is static.
I've tried looking through the manual and going through all the setting on the camera, but I haven't found anything that will make the camcorder pick up sounds with the internal mic.
Any guess at how much this may cost me if I have to send it off to be fixed?
**Edit**
I played around with it some more, and I can hear sound coming via the internal Microphone, but it sounds very faint. Is there a way to boost the signal?
