I borrowed my friends S400 for a few pictures, my brother has our digital camera (right now on the way to montana).

Anyway how do I transfer the image off the camera.

I know the USB cable and I know teh software that's there (EZ Browser).however i dont know how to use that software hopefully its easy to do so or give me some tips.. i just need one picture off the camera.

My question is when i connect the USB cable and start teh software.. what do i do on the camera to say im transferring the images..

or basically give me instructions to transfer images.

thanks

Don't use the software. Plug it in, and Windows will detect it as a storage device. Then you can access it through explorer.

I don't know if there's a special mode since I don't have a Canon. With my Fuji, I just plug it in and go.

Yeah, WinkOsmosis is right. That is the easiest way to transfer pictures. That is what I do with my Canon G2. You should be able to just move the slider to preview pictures and the computer should recognize the elph.

since u dun have the cable..only way now is to get the CF card out and transfer it manually..
anyone u know have a CF reader?...or i think u can go to some stores to do it.

or if u really dun want to ask anyone for help..go to any store, buy CF reader...
go home and plugin(usually usb), remove CF from camera and transfer to your computer,
put back CF in camera. then go back to store and return CF reader...ask for refund.
Just make sure u can return the CF reader with no penalties.

u can get a CF ready for like $10-20

you need to put the camera into playback bode (the little Play switch) in order to get photos directly off of it. But since you dont have the USB cord this is a moot point.
