This seems a hot deal to me. Staples has the Elph Digital camera S100 for $600. Go to www.tristatecamera.com, they have the same camera for $469. PM it down to $340. Theres also a $40 coupon for staples flying around. So the final price comes down to $300. You save $300!!

That would be an incredible deal on the Elph, that is one cool camera, but how can you PM down to $340? The 155% is over.

even though staples doesn't do the 155% pricematch I'm still considering it.

Staples would pricematch to $469, then $40 off coupon for $429 total. I'm sure I could sell my S10 with recharger for $450, so I'd basically upgrade for free.

it would be nice to have a camera that small.

wait nevermind, i just looked it up:

S10
4.1" x 2.7" x 1.3"
Approx. 270 g (9.5 oz) excluding batteries and CF card

S100
3.4 x 2.2 x 1.1 in
Approx. 190 g (6.7 oz.) excluding batteries and CF card

so the S100 isn't that much smaller or lighter, but it sure looked smaller at the store! Guess I'll keep my S10.

yeah but not enough to go through all that hassle, besides the S10 can do some things the S100 can't, like it has more resolution choices and can take the IBM Microdrive and the S100 can't.

The tiny S100 either takes a 1600x1200 or 640x480, their's no in between resolution, which sucks if you ask me. The S10 will do 1600x1200, 1280x960 or 800x600, much better option when running low on memory.

However, the S100 does have it's strong points, besides being the smallest digital camera in the world right now it also comes with a rechargeable lithium battery and recharger, something that costs $80 more with the S10.

i think i'll keep my S10, but for any one considering the S100 here's the review

Actually, it is... it doesn't sound like it when dealing with numbers that small (ie, 3.4 to 4.1 inches), but if you really look at the numbers...

The S10 is 14.39 cubic inches
The S100 is 8.22 cubic inches

Divide these & you'll see that the S100 is 57% the size of the S10.

Almost half - very significant!

The title of this thread is VERY misleading. Heck, I could say you could pricematch to $10, but it will never work.

Heifetz: How you could PM it through Staples to get to $340, when tristatecamera.com has it for $469?
