Canon Ejay Mp3 making prob

got ejay from the maxtor 30 gig deal. when i go to encode it starts showing percent at %.1, %.2..... then goes instantly to %100 and does nothing. there is no mp3 and nothing ever happened. i think it might only reconize .wav files, is that possible? win2k calls cds .cda. Is their any way to make cds, .wav again? thanx
