Canon DRebel Kit for $799 after MIR

I *think* this might end at midnight tonight, but I'm not sure: Canon's 6.3MP Digital Rebel kit is going for $899 before rebate on circuit city's website - just add it to your cart to see the price. The $100 MIR is still valid (ends at the end of the month, I believe), too. Order it online for in-store pick up, and have your camera in the morning May not be the hottest deal, but not bad if you need a camera quick (or you're just impatient).

I just got this camera a while ago and it is AWESOME! The picture quality is insane and the versatility is incredible. With the firmware hack, you get 99% of the options of a Canon 10D, including Flash Exposure Compensation, Mirror Lock-Up, and custom button assignments.

I debating whether or not the D70 is worth the extra $300

The Canon 300D Digital Rebel can be had for ~$800 several places online, ie: BuyDig; with Canon's $100 rebate it's $684.99 at BuyDig. If you also buy 2 additional qualifying lenses, the rebate for the Digital Rebel is $300 plus triple rebate for said lenses, so roughly (depending on the lenses you buy) $400 back, which is like getting a lens for free.

The Canon rebate promo lasts to the end of the month and purchases have to made at qualifying Canon distributors/resellers. You have to buy the American versions, not the import versions of said camera and lenses. Buying this out of state and paying shipping is probably cheaper than paying instate tax.

I don't think it's that cheap. There's cheaper places. I remember getting it for $840 after tax last April. I really don't like how some popular resellers like to bump UP their prices to compensate for rebates. It should be much cheaper after the Canon rebate, but it's not...
