Canon Digital Rebel - what's the data transfer speed??

Recent purchased a 300D Digital Rebel, but cannot find the data transfer rating anywhere.

I tried downloading images first from a Lexar 12x card (1.8MB/sec) and then using an Sandisk Ultra II (9MB/sec), but both took about 15-20 seconds to transfer one single 3-4MB file. Is it because the camera does not read any faster than 2MB/sec which is about 12x???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. I finally called up a Canon Rep who told me the camera only transfers at USB1.1 speed. Anyway, I went out and purchased a Sandisk USB2.0 reader. I should've done it on day number 1!!!

Way to go! I am on my 5th digicam and have never used a wire link - always a reader. It's a lot faster, neater and more accurate.

You might want to get yourself a couple of extra media. I have actually gone off and left my CF card in the reader, and got to the picture taking location and my camera was empty. 🙂 I always carry a spare now.

The Digital Rebel is a whale of a value. I got the EOS D60 about a year and a half ago, and have taken over 3600 good pics with it.

What lens did you get with the Rebel?
