so i'm referring to something like THIS.

i guess its only a few bucks so if it doesnt' work, oh well. but still, do any of you guys have experience with such cheap canon batteries?!

plus look at the ratings- 1200mAh!! versus brand name canon's 845 or something like that!! whats the catch?!
 
I bought one of these for my S400. It doesn't last as long as the canon battery, but it's good enough to use as a spare.

i bought one of these cheap ones for my G3. Works great IMO. I use it as a back up. no problems and $10 sure beats the $70 Canon wants to charge.
