Canon A75 or Olympus C4000?!

I was wondering if ya'll have any opinions about these cameras and/or how they compare to each other. I wanna get a camera for my dad for Christmas. Thanks!

i had an olympus and have been thrilled since trading up to a canon a80. the canon does so much better in anything that isn't ideal lighting conditions. canon also really knows how to make a ui that is simple for newbies but very powerful if you want to play with advanced options. canon also has a much better software bundle including a bunch of apps you'll actually use. go canon, you won't regret it!

If you can live without the bells and whistles go with the Olympus. I had the A75 for a day and then returned it. I owned a olympus before it but was 2mp. What you want to do it go to steves-digicam.com and find the A75 and the Olympus on the site. Look in the sample pics and pic out what looks to be the same pictures in both camera sections. I did it with the M&M one and to me the Olympus took the cake. The text on the mags looked clearer and had better sharpness to all the pictures over the A75. but to each his own. Check them out and read read read and pick whats best for you. Best way to do it is save thm to your computer and switch from one to the other and you will see the diff in each.

OH and why did I return my camera is because most of my shots are indoors. Over half the shots I took in automatic mode came out over expsposed when my son was closer then three feet to me and no matter what I did in automatic they didnt come out right. I bought it to take spur of the moment shots not when my son is close to turn it on, set it to manual mode, mess with the settings for how close he is, and then take the shot. By that time the moment would of long passed. My old olympus (same case as the 4000) I would just turn it on and take the shot and 99% of them would come out. OH and if you like close ups the 4000 gets up to .7 of an inch. Thats right you can count the green and red fibers in a dollar with it that close. Might even see some germs 🙂
My 2 cents 🙂
