Canon A70 vs S410

I am just wondering which one will take better pic? a 3mp or 4mp camera?
the s410 is about $350 at dell and A70 can be purchased for $200 at amazon.
 
Apples and oranges; the A series are for control freaks; the S series has an extreme focus on small size.

you can't compare the taste of apple and orange, but I bet you can compare the pictures taken by these two cameras 😛
 
Well you've got a lot less (if any) manual features on the S series.. so you want to take low-light pics without the flash? it's gonna look worse. You want to take pics of people? S series is notorious for redeye... an outdoor daytime pic? Probably the S > A. It's not as simple as which is better.
 
A80 -- GottaDeal.com had a OneCall link for $309 last month with bonus of batteries + charger, they also have Dell deals for around that price now and then.

I almost got the s410, I like the smaller size, but since I only want one all-around good camera I went with the A80 instead. I've been too busy to really put it through its paces but I'm feeling no remorse.

And note with the A80 it has the full auto of the S series so you don't have to learn to use manual features until you want to / need to.

no...not with a80. it is A70 vs S410. there is no match for a80 vs s410. a80 wins all the way! 😉
 
Yeah, didn't mean to imply the A series was hard to use, just that it offers more options. They're also far from big cameras.

I thought about the A70 too, but decided I'd rather get a $350 4 MP now and keep it for at least a couple of years, than spend $200 now and $200 next year (and miss a year of 4 MP goodness).
