canon A70 vs s230

image quality is about the same.

I have a S230 and love it.
I chose it over the A70 because there's a charger and battery included with the S230, and i also prefer the stilyness and size of the S230 over the A70.

Otherwsie both are quite good cams.




 
S230 is "cooler" but it's your price. I don't know anything about the A70 other than that it's bigger. I got the S230 as I needed something small that I could throw in my pocket for snowboarding, motorcycling, going out, etc.
 
I would say they are both excellent and the difference is in form factor. I know the S series still has lots of manual controls but I'm guessing the A might have a few more? I'm more then satisfied with the picture quality of my S200.
