Canon A70 lens adapter and lenses

I'm looking into buying a threaded lens adapter and a few lenses (at least wide) for my A70. I've seen a few on ebay that are dramatically cheaper ($60 w/wide and telephoto lenses) than the official Canon branded adapter ($75, no lens). Is this a get-what-you-pay-for situation or is the Canon branded stuff just overpriced?

You should be able to find the lens adapter for about $20 USD I would suspect (it's approx $30-$35 CAD), and the Wide or Tele lens should be about $130 or $140 USD maybe less (it's approx $160-180 CAD).

Edit: That's for the Canon branded ones.

Ahh, I've managed to find the Canon branded lens adapter for around $20 here. There's no way I'll be spending $130-$160 per lens on this camera. Can anyone comment on these cheaper lenses and their quality?

You get what you pay for. The Canon tele and wide lenses will give you the best quality, but any auxiliary lens will give somewhat softer results than you would get normally.

You may notice color fringing or softness (especially at the edges of the image) with the cheaper lenses.

The only way to find out if the cheaper lenses will work for you is to try them. If you buy the cheaper lenses be sure to buy them where you can return them for a full refund if you don't like the results.
