Canon A50 upgrade to Canon A40, worth it?

I figure I can sell my A50 1.3MP and upgrade to the A40 2.0MP (better than just the pixel increase) for about $50.

Anyone know a better step up? I use my cam mostly for closeups on ebay, my website, and 3x5/4x6 printing...I am not sure if I will go to 5x7/8x10 in print, although occasionally I have captured a great shot and just didn't have the resolution to go up...the problem is even if you camera is 5MP, how many at taking snapshots at that level?

Small size is probably the biggest concern. My A50 is a 'ELPH'. I think the current lines are S200-S400, but I know nothing of those.

Thanks

Chris

Weird I never even knew the A50 existed.

Go for at least a 2-3MP digicam with good macro (I think that means close up shots, right?)

Broaden your search, don't only include Canon digicams just make sure to avoid HP and Kodak.

Thanks, but I am looking for a spoonfeeding here 🙂

I will look into those other line ups too. I do like my cam, just that I think I am at the point where I need to upgrade or it will become impossible to resell. If it were a 3MP I would be hanging on to it.
