Canon A40 owners...

Haven't used my camera in awhile but when I plugged it up today to transfer some pics over it won't let me. Says it's not connected properly, battery low, source file is missing or read only, target file is missing or read only, target folder is missing or read only. ??

I put new batteries in...same thing. Moved USB ports and same thing. Don't have a card reader. Also tried to re-install the software. What is this and how do I fix it?

i would guess that you either have a bad cable or the plug on your camera has gone bad

I forgot about this. I messed with it for a few hours last night and finally got it working. Had to uninstall the twain & usb drivers which are a pain then reinstall. The ZoomBrowser doesn't detect the camera still automatically but will manually transfer so it half way works.

Just an excuse to buy a card reader.

You don't need the ZoomBrowser. Just install the drivers and you'll see your camera as a listed "drive" in My Computer. From there, just copy and paste. Works great.

You can't in win2k. Only does that in XP using the WIA driver.
