I currently have Minolta DimageX. Its' really small, but the focus is no longer working properly and shots just come out fuzzy. So, I need to replace it. I really want something that can fit into my pocket on my jeans. The A series canons, in person, really aren't that small; on the canon line that pushes me up to the SD110 which is like $330 which is more than what I want to spend. I want to keep it to <$200, maybe $250...but the A series canons really are a tad too big for what I want.

Are any of the nikon offerings any good?

What a coincidence, I just bought a digital camera online today with my purchase based on almost the exact things as you are considering: ultra-compact, $200-300 price range, etc. I narrowed the choices down to the Nikon Coolpix 3700, Minolta DiMAGE XG, and Canon SD110. It was very hard to find a review which would take the side of one of these cameras over another (believe me, I did hours of research on this) - supposedly these are all the very best of the 3.2 MP compact camera market. While I was leaning towards the SD110 because of Canon's outstanding reputation and two years of flawless service from my A40, in the end I chose the Nikon because of price. After a 100 rebate from Nikon, the 3700 comes out to 178 shipped from Butterfly Camera. The best price I could find for the XG and SD110 was in the 220-240 range. Now, I gotta find a hot deal on a SD memory card =)

Well, onecall has the SD110 for $244 right now. A little more than you wanted, but still less than your max. :p

That's still not bad. I wonder how the durability is though?

Extremely durable. I have the SD100 and have had no problems at all. Fits in your pocket and I've even dropped it a few times with no damage.
