Has anyone else figured this out? I'm trying to shoot some video, but I need the flash on for it, and I can't figure out how the heck to turn it on. I tried google but that was no help. Any ideas?

I must be missing something... how are you expecting to use flash while doing video?

Flash pulses for an instant... video lasts seconds and minutes.

You're just going to have to buy an external video light that. The built-in flash is for still photos and "flashes" for a fraction of a second for the purposes of lighting an image. It isn't an always on light source and isn't designed to be.

Shooting video is no different than shooting movies on film. Flash is for stills. Video requires steady light - i.e., a light bar or external source.

Video needs steady light - not a rapid pulse. There are new LED developments that can do what you describe. Browse your sources for a video LED light.

That looks super useful for video -- is it powerful enough for someone a few feet in front of you ?

i had the same thing, maybe from a different company though. it works very well and very bright!
sadly it stopped working after 2 vid shoots.
