Yeah, it probably is. The same page that leaked the 24-105mm IS had the 5D on it, and the lens is real.

I believe it is in between the 1ds MKII and the 20D. So it is going to retail for roughly $3499-$4500 or something along those lines.

Right out of your pocket.

Not sure how I feel about this camera. It will probably be a thousand more than the 20D, and I think I am glad I didn't wait. A full size sensor is great, but not enough to make a difference to me.

Yup, it's true. Resale value of 1Ds MkII is already taking a massive hit.
$4000 range full frame Dslr sure is a killer.

Yeah, I'm having a hard time getting excited about this camera. For someone who doesn't already have a 20D or 1DII and is looking to drop $3500-$4000 on a camera, then it would be okay, I guess, but seriously if you needed full frame and ~12MP, a used 1Ds seems like the way to go. I just can't see shelling out that kind of cash and not even getting a weather sealed camera.

What's important is that Canon is taking 1:1 frame issue seriously and expanding it. 5D sure is expensive but as it is supposed to be out, resale value of 1ds Mk2 has dropped quite a bit already. Soon, those who dreamed of 1:1 frame Dslr can actually buy one a lot cheaper than it's ever been along with choices.
Think how shocking it was when Canon came out with 300D. It was the first cheap Dslr that started nowadays cheap-dslr madness. For some people, yes, it's considered as an expensive camera, but you know it's not. Thus, I think of 5D as another revolution like 300D.

Looking at the review, the biggest mistake (and it is a big one) is not having it weather sealed.

I do hope this camera sells as well as Canon hopes, because the more units it moves, the more cost effective it will be to produce full size sensors. This is also why I will never buy an EF-S lens. Someday I will want to replace my 20D, but not soon. It has the resolution, flexibility and low noise I want in a camera. I love shooting in RAW, and I can do that nicely, thank you.

The difference in price buys a lot of nice glass, which is something people forget to factor in all the time. Happens here a lot. Someone is always saying how a DSLR is just a couple hundred dollars more than a Canon S2, and you can get some great macro shots. Well you can, but you are going to drop some hundreds on a macro lens to do it.

Anyway, I'd much rather go for a used MKII for professional level shooting.

blah, all the hype and these cameras/lens don't do anything for me. i'm keeping my 1d2.

can't understand why canon didn't weather seal the 5d. it would (still will) sell like hotcakes!

I have a 20D too but I have both the 17-85IS and the 10-22 ef-s lenses. IMO, you are missing out on a lot by not taking advantage of your cameras ability to mount those lenses. Canon seems to be taking a 1.6x=consumer and FF=professional approach. FF is not coming down to the sub 1K price-point any time too soon. EF-S lenses will hold their value well enough. If I wanted to purchase the 5D when it became available, I could easily sell my ef-s lenses for nearly what I paid for them. This should continue to be the case in the foreseeable future.

I had the 28-135IS w/ my 10D and sold it for the 17-85IS when I upgraded to a 20D. The 17-85IS is a much better walk-around lens while the 10-22 provides real ultra-wa shooting on a 1.6x crop body. I'd seriously reconsider not buying ef-s lenses considering it is one of the advantages of your camera body.

..although the 24-105L IS does seem pretty, depending on the price.
