Looking to go Digital SLR for the first time.

They are asking $400 for the above package.

Is this an okay price or should I go for something different?

Thanks

That's not too bad actually. Is the 10D in new condition? I'm assuming the 50mm lens is the f/1.8. That lens costs about $80 new but it is fast and you could get great results with it. The 10D is a few years old now but still capable of taking some really nice pictures if it's in like new condition.

If it's the 50 f/1.4 I'd jump on it. That lens alone is worth $300.

It was used as a backup camera and not used that much. Looks like a very nice camera.

Can you get them down to $300 or 350?

The 10D is the predecessor to the 20D and was about a $1400 camera when new. As recent as 6 months ago you could still buy a new 10D online for about $800 so this really isn't a bad deal. I say go for it. It's a great way to get into DSLR for not a lot of money.

It is f 1/8 and he said he has a 20-90mm that he could give instead of the 50mm.

THanks

The 20-90mm is probably a total piece of crap. I'd just get the 50mm and if you find you want a zoom later on I'd buy a decent one then.

I'd jump on the deal. The 10D is a great camera and the 50/1.8 is a great little lens - both a very nice intro into digital photography.

Dang, I would get that if I had the opportunity! (still have way to many CF cards not being used)

What's the 20-90 lens?

Who knows, he might get lucky!

I'm guessing it's a Quantaray lens...which is a very very cheap zoom lens. The 50 would be a much better choice.

I am checking the type of lens and it is a 28-90, not a 20 - 90. $350 will buy the camera, so it is a littile better deal.

I'd go for it, if everything's in great shape.

the 10d is nice but you may want to get the grip also , makes it a more sturdy camera
