It seems to be a problem right now with the new cards. The problem also exist in some Nvidia cards.
My monitor is the Emprex 22" widescreen LCD. I am running Vista X64.
My new video card is Asus 4850. I have tried the newest drivers 8.6, the hotfix, and the beta 8.7. It will boot up and all of sudden the monitor goes blank. If I plug it in as analog with the DVI to analog adapter the video will work. It won't work with DVI input.
I am posting this thread in hope of some one finding out the reason and the fix if any. It seems the problem is software related and most if not all with Vista X64 or the 64 bit OSes.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks.
If you guys need any more information, please ask.

There is no fix as of yet.

It's a known issue that both the 4850 and the 4870 has issues with the DVI output in Vista (both 32-bit and x64) with some monitors. The only solutions at the moment are to either use the VGA adapter, which is what both you and I are doing. Or to use XP (the XP drivers are unaffected).

There's a growing thread in the AMD forums about the problem.
