ok so i put together a new system for my dad...his old system was a 133MHz compaq presario. I copied his harddrive to a spare and brought it home where i put everything together... System posts ok.
I bought a new maxtor 40gig 7200 rpm drive and began by copying the spare drive (the copy of my dad's) to the new 40gig.
then i booted up a windows98 boot disk and began WinMe setup...after scandisk and entry of the product key, i get a error message about enternet 300 is installed and must be removed....blah blah blah

the problem is i cannot boot into windows to delete/remove enternet...

i tried to remove the nts(nds?) file folder in program files folder (which contained the program file for enternet) but the setup program still sees enternet (in the registry i assume)

how can i edit the registry of a remote disk? What keys would i wanna delete??

are there any other workarounds?
