Cannot Update e-mail address

I just saw the message about the forum switch today and upon attempting to update my e-mail address I was greeted with the message:

"ERROR: Your username contains special characters. Usernames must only contain alphabetical or numeric characters."

I was promptly signed out and left with my old (invalid) e-mail address in my profile.
I'm hoping someone can help me with this.

If I have to have a new user name, I'd prefer to switch over to "Terminal Raptor" or "TerminalRaptor".
