On the User CP, the option to create, update, change, edit my signature is available. I have a sig already, so I want to add a quote, so I am separating the two sig's with a dashed line, like so:
----------------------------------
then I enter my new sig here which is a quote, so "Blah Blah" ~ Author

I've attempted this twice tonight and about eight times total over the past week; each attempt returns a page with the following:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, admin@anandtech.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

This is not a big deal for me but thought you all should know about it.

Thanks,
John

Let's rule out any invalid characters or the length of the quote.

Can you post the complete sig here?

current sig
-----------------------------------
"You are young and you are the future, so suck it up and tough it out; be the best you can." ~ John Cougar

I hadn't thought of invalid characters so that semicolon and the tilde might be an issue?

Thanks for your help.

I know I was having issues with the forums a few days ago until I cleared my AT cookies. Might be worth trying.

I first noticed this problem on my account several years ago, in fact. Which is why mine hasn't been changed in that long, at least. Hope this helps.

Hmm, now I'm getting a different error.
1. BB code size value is too big.
I basically can't modify it at all.

That is strange, I just updated my signature without issue. We will look into this.

Captante or someone else getting the error, could you please email me with the exact sig you're trying to upload? We're trying to track the issue down, and think it may be content-related.
