Cannot Stream Videos: WMP11

I just formatted my PC. Installed all the drivers for all PC components, and downloaded and installed WMP11.

Here's the problem: Websites that stream WMP video will not show up for me, all I can see is a black screen.

I have turned video Acc. OFF and once right clicked on the video and selected "error details", it says:

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is located on the Internet, connect to the Internet. If the file is located on a removable storage card, insert the storage card."

I dont know what to do in order to stream online vids. Any ideas?

bum pppp:

edit: Example website is gamespot.com and instead of downloading a video, simply 'watching' a video. The vid will not load, and pressing 'play' will not make it buffer/play ether.

I can try. I think it might because I didn't get it from Windows.com... 🙁 I'll give another redownload / retry.

Downloaded it from windows.com.. and the player skin looked like WMP11 in the steaming videos now (it didn't before), however the videos still do not load.
