Cannot See Boot Info Using DVI for Video

Helo all. I have an Asus booksized barebones system I put together for my kids and am having only one problem. When the system boots up, the initial boot info (BIOS revision, RAM count, etc) does not display n the monitor. As a matter of fact, the monitor status light goes into standby and displays "no signal". However, once Windows starts, the screen comes on and works fine the entire time I am using the PC. It only the boot info I can't see which is annoying because I also cannot access ther BIOS settings because of this.

Now, when I use a d-sub cable I can see it all. Of course the PQ using that cable is not near as good as the DVI so I do not want to settle for this solution.

Here is the system info:

Asus Pundit P1-PH! Barebones system (Asus mobo w/integrated ATI video)
Intel 3ghz CPU
1GB Mushkin RAM
19" WS Westinghouse Monitor

~ One more thing, I swapped out monitors with another 19" flatscreen DVI monitor and the same thing occurs.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

I've seen this happen with certain video cards (always ATI, in my experience). If flashing the latest motherboard BIOS and installing the latest video driver doesn't fix it, then the only other solution is installing a different video card.

Are you sure you can see the difference between a DVI and Analog connection to your LCD monitor? I use dual LCD monitors (a 19-inch Analog and a 19-inch DVI) side-by-side every day, and I can't tell the difference.

Yea, I just updated the BIOS and video drivers and it still does the same thing. Foir some reason with this integrated ATI video card, the DVI is significantly better than the analog connection. On the Asus forums most people tend to agree. I guess I'll just have to connect a D-Sub if I want to edit BIOS settings. Thanks anyway!
