Cannot see 2nd SATA HD

Just purchased an additional 350GB WD HD - SATA, of course - have a raptor currently with OS loaded - I can see the original HD (Raptor) but can't see the 2nd one, however device manager sees 2 disk drives just don't have 2 different partitions. I thought they came preformatted and partioned whats up?
 
They don't come preformatted, you have to use Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management, select the disk, and then format it yourself.
