Question Cannot Run 2 Seagate 8 TB Backup+s Simultaneously.

Asus Z97-Pro (latest bios update), 16 Gig Ram, Win 10 (latest updates and drivers installed).

Have 2 Seagate 8 TB Backup+ HDDs. With only one connected, either drive runs well. When I connect both with Win10 running, system freezes. If shut down, it will not boot.

Now get this…..I have another 2 TB Backup+ Desk HDD. When I connect either of the 8 TBs with the 2 TB both drives run. Seagate tech support was not able to figure this out. Need help getting the 2 8 TBs to run at the same time.

Thanks for any assistance.

Is the pre-formatted DISK ID the same between the volumes on both 8TB HDDs? Windows may get confused if they are identical. Unless it's an issue with power, but these should be self-powered desktop drivers, right? So the only USB power would be for the USB interface.

Same thing. They are different.

Looks like drivers fixed it. I had already checked Microsoft for latest drivers, but went to Asus anyway and got their latest. I’ve been running all Three of the drives for a couple of hours.

Thanks much for your help
