For whatever reason, I'm having a hard time starting up JKJA. I decided to make my own thread instead of hijacking someone else's (sorry bout that).

I'm running XP, but other than that I'm running a pretty good gaming setup for what I could afford. If specs are needed, just ask and I will post them.

Anyway,I tried taking the atioglxx.dl_ file from 10.4 ATI verison and putting it into the Game Data, as well as adding atifix.bat file (with the encoding of course). I also tried reinstalling and so far nothing.

Someone mentioned another fix involving hex, but I'm unable to find "GL_EXTENTIONS: %s" in the executable.

I had downloaded this game from Direct2Drive and was able to play it for a few months after getting it, which was around March of this year.

Any ideas/or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for responding. I've already tried that though, as I said above. I put 10.4, as well trying as far back as 9.4 and still it doesn't help. Perhaps it isn't a graphics driver issue?

Did you run the "atifix.bat" file and is there now an expanded "atioglxx.dll" file in the directory?

I beleive Direct2Drive encodes game executables as part of their copy protection so my hack wouldn't work with a version of the game obtained that way.

I ran the atifix.bat and I tried completely removing and re-downloading/installing and still no luck. I also have no fragmented files. Seeing as I purchased this from D2D, they only have one source for the download. I would prefer not to go the torrent route, but unless D2D can fess up to it being their fault, it would seem I'm at a loss.

Make sure you're getting the exact same error each time you try a fix. It might be a case of multiple problems and you're flip-flopping between them. I'd also run a full scandisk to rule out a hard drive problem.

I've seen the game sold for like $5 as a jewelcase at Walmart, but there's no guarantee that version would work any better.

Yeah, I did a disk scan just to be sure, still having issues. I have Notron 360 which keeps my comp files clean and stuff, so I don't think that would be an issue. I've honestly search all over in my area and hadn't found the game anywhere nearby. That's the main reason I got it from D2D, the other was when I bought, it was on sale for $5 instead of $10.

I'll keep trying to dick around with it, perhaps there is a difference in the errors I get, but I haven't seen anything that hasn't matched. I really wish the game was still supported and got updates. It was a really good game.
