Cannot open MMC saved in location that uses folder redirection

I created an MMC with AD and Exchange tools on my new Win 7 Pro SP1 computer. My desktop, start menu, and document folders are all redirected to a file server using a GPO. After saving the file to the Administrative Tools folder in the start menu, I can't open the file - "Microsoft Management Console - Access is Denied". I created a new MMC with only the ADUC snap-in and saved it to the same location and it gives the same error when I try opening it. Rebooting the computer and the file server hasn't changed anything. If I right click on the file and open-as using my domain admin account, it tells me I don't have access to the location on the network (where the folder redirection is on the file server).

The only way I can open the MMCs using my account or using run-as is to save them to a folder on my computer that does not have folder redirection to a network share, such as c:\tools.

If I save it to a mapped drive that is not involved in folder redirection, I can open the file normally using my logged on credentials, but when I do a run-as and use my domain admin account I get the error "I:\test.msc - The system cannot find the drive specified."

You have to look at what context you are using the program under, or what user it is running under especially when running from a mapped network drive. The domain admin account cannot see your mapped network drive under your user account.

The run-as credentials issue makes sense - I can always give my domain admin account access to the resource - but not being able to run an mmc from my docs or desktop because they are being redirected has me stumped. Offline files also enabled if anyone thinks that might make a difference.

Just tried to run it and check the App, Security, and System logs - nothing.

Checked same logs on the file server and nothing there either.

Don't have a problem opening or running any other files/apps either on my desktop or in another location with folder redirection. Just copied putty to my desktop and it runs fine.
