I can go to any webpage even the "My Ebay" webpage but when I try to login, IE will not let me through. I have the SSL 3.0 and SSL 2.0 checked or turned on. I even turned the SSL 1.0 on when I read the error message. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

I am using a router and I did have the SP2 Windows firewall turned on. I turned it off. As far as cookies, I lowered the settings down as low as they can go. I am really stumped.

I tried to paste the error message but it would not let me do that either.

To check your connection settings, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click Settings. The settings should match those provided by your local area network (LAN) administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
See if your Internet connection settings are being detected. You can set Microsoft Windows to examine your network and automatically discover network connection settings (if your network administrator has enabled this setting).
Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options.
On the Connections tab, click LAN Settings.
Select Automatically detect settings, and then click OK.

Some sites require 128-bit connection security. Click the Help menu and then click About Internet Explorer to determine what strength security you have installed.
If you are trying to reach a secure site, make sure your Security settings can support it. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and check settings for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0.
Click the Back button to try another link.

Still no luck. I have looked on my old computer and I could not find any differences in the security, privacy, or the advanced settings.

Do you have anti-Spyware utilities loaded? I know some programs like Spyware Blaster can disable certain ActiveX controls and other items in Internet Explorer(or other browser) and no matter what changes you make to the browser it still won't change.

It's a long shot..

Hey networkman,

Thanks for your reply. I have adaware and spybot loaded but this happened before i ever installed them. I have gone over all of my active X settings and they are exactly like my older computer. You are on to something though. Before I changed some of the settings it would not let me go to the "My Ebay" webpage. Now I have to figure out a way to login. I am also ging to contact Ebay to see if it is something on their end.

It sounds like some kindof spyware. I had this happen to a friend of mine. We ended up just formatting.

Nocturnal,

I am a little baffled in how I could have serious spyware with this new computer. The only webpages I have been to thus far are ebay and these computer forums. No other files from any other computers either. Is there away spyware can get on a machine from the default MSN webpage that shows up when IE first boots up?
