Hi all,

I recently installed a new x800xt PE video card from the hot deals but did not go through the auto route of the "New Hardware Detected". I just cancelled the process when message shoed up and installed manually via a file and used the newest Omega drivers.

Now everytime I load up windows, a new hardware message detected shows up and there are question marks under "other devices". The only way I get the window to not appear upon bootup is to disable it in Hardware devices mgr.

Is there any way to get that off my list????

Thoughts
Thanks.

Do not use the omega drivers for now, used the proper ATI drivers. When you have installed the proper drivers, see if the problem goes away. Then load the Omega's back up...

I tried that. I tried the Cat 5.8. I get error message about failing to load cli.exe. It seems the ati control panel is not loading right. Lokks like the porgam wants me to download MS Net framwork. What does that do???

You need to install the .net framework so run windows update and look under 'Software, Optional'.

Like John said!!!

BUT. I think you only need net.framework if you want the Catalyst Control Center. I believe you can download the driver without the CCC and then do not need net.framework. But, of course, I could be wrong.

Thanks all. Dloading that .net framework worked and my control center is working. I now get a popup after winxp loads where it says something like error "Cannot load Low level device driver. please restart application".

What happened here. Should I reinstall the drivers???
