Cannot install UEFI Windows Pro 8.1 from DVD

I have a Windows 8.1 Pro Full DVD

I have an Asus X99 Motherboard and I have set the BIOS as follows

Optimizations in Boot menu

Fast Boot [Enabled]
SATA Support [Boot Drive only]
USB Support [Partial Initialization]
POST Delay Time [0 sec]
CSM (Compatibility Support Module) [Disabled]

When I go to the boot menu and I see UEFI:<dvd_name>

When I boot I get the message to hit any key to boot from the DVD but nothing happens and I go directly to BIOS.

What am I missing?
 
I am not sure why you would want SATA Support set to boot drive only. It should encompass you SATA DVD drive as well.
 
Is it possible that keyboard is not being recognized at that point?
Also there's special process to enabled booting from DVD when you enable UEFI... do you have secure boot or something like that disabled?
 
Try disabling fastboot. I couldn't get the keyboard to be recognized outside of the bios but before windows until I did.
 
My DVD is my boot drive. I am trying to boot to my windows DVD in the DVD drive and install to my SSD.

Your boot drive *now* is the DVD drive. As soon as windows is installed that SSD is your boot drive.

Either way, they both need SATA support to function. Turn it on for all drives.
 
I will try all the suggestions as soon as I get home. I had a day off today but something happened at work and I need to go in.

Did you set your dvd in the bbs priority list and in the boot menu to the uefi version of the drive? Once windows installs in uefi mode your first boot device will be the windows boot manager followed by the ssd and then the optical drive.

Yes, I tried your suggestion that I found on another website as well as all the suggestions above.

I am giving up for now. I created a USB Key with Windows on it using Rufus and everything is up and running as of Noon today.

I plan to continue to pursue the problem "just because" it bothers me.

I even contacted LG and Asus and I am waiting to see what they say.
