cannot install Red Hat or Suse AT ALL...why?

I am trying to install redhat on another server and it will not boot..it gives me a "boot failed" ..it is a vectra vli8 with a Tekram ATA Raid(Problem) card

usually I get a no-operating system error or no boot sik, but this message comes after it reads the disk....I even loaded a boot disk using most of the images on the cd(of course boot.img) and none of them works...

Suse does the same

any ideas or images that might work....thanks

Only Mandrake works but it does not support the card...thanks

What kernel are you trying to run? I'm wondering if you are trying to load an initrd kernel, but don't have the initrd image set up properly?

Can you boot from the CD?
Did you consider having bad cds??

What's the model on that Tekram Raid card? Did you check their site for linux drivers??

Are you planning on installing on a disk connected to the raid channel?

IT worked....sort of....I could not get the system to boot t ocd(why I do not know)up with the raid and in the end am using the system without it..I could have used software raid but did not because I found saving my raid card for another ocassion a better option

Thanks for the help however
