I had installed Linux FC4, worked just fine. However, I've decided to switch it over to Windows 98. 98 cannot read the drive as it is not FAT32, or atleast that's my assumption. And therefore I cannot fdisk it.

What to do? :(

Memory's a little fuzzy, but isn't there a format option on the W98 setup CD?

Also, to use FDisk I think you need a floppy with the CD (ATAPI ?) and a few other files on it.

Been a while since I messed with 98.

Yes. Format/setup cannot read the HDD. It thinks it contains errors, and will not continue installation.
Neither can FDisk.

If you have an XP installation CD you may be able to wipe it with that and then redo it with 98 (if needed).

If you have a spare drive, do an install on that and see if you can recover/format it under the XP admin utilities.

You could also see if you can recover it with your Linux install materials.

Other than that, you may need to search the Net for a 'Low level' format utility and see if you can get that working.

Those are all the options I can think of right now. May come up with others later - I'll post them if I do.

If you have a floppy disk drive or are able to burn CD's try DBAN orGParted might work. IS Fedora Core 4 a live CD? If it is it would probably have a partition editor on there you can reformat with.
