Cannot get wireless desktop connected

I have a Netgear MR-514 router and a Dlink DWL--520 installed in a PC, however I cannot get the PC to connect to my network. For testing purposes, I removed WEP and MAC filtering but the Dlink will not connect. It sees the SSID in the site survey but when I connect, nothing happens. The router does not show the desktop as being an attached device.

My Apple laptop works flawlessly with the network, so i know everything works.

I have the same router and I'm sending it back. It's a piece of junk as far as I'm concerned. My wireless and wired lan both do not work. I keep having to repair my connection on my wired machines. The tech told me to setup static IP addresses on the machine but why should I do that when I have a router. I didn't buy it not to setup the IP's.
