Cannot get video via HDMI

So I'm trying to connect desktop PC to monitor (VGA) and TV (HDMI) cloning the screen to both displays.

VGA to monitor working fine.
With HDMI to TV, the PC detects the TV fine (displays "Samsung" in the AMD CCC) but I can not get a signal to the TV itself.

I've tried 2 different TVs and cables.

Help?

In clone mode, the resolution and refresh rate of both displays must be equal, I believe. Is it possible that the monitor has a different resolution or refresh rate than the TV? Is the TV 720P?
