Cannot get video to display via HDMI to TV HDMI

I have a Trinity HTPC that I want to connect to my TV via HDMI, but the TV doesn't recognize the computer and will say no source detected. It works fine via VGA, but not HDMI. I have the latest APU driver for my A8-5600K. Is there a setting to change video output to HDMI in the catalyst control?

Might be easier to get a 2nd monitor down there and hook both up. Use the VGA as the main display and see if you can get the TV to work as an extended or mirrored display.

I've fixed strange issues like this with drivers. Hard to do if you can't see the screen 🙂

When you boot the computer with only the HDMI cable attached to the display you don't see the BIOS splash screen or anything? If you're not getting a signal to the TV during power up then it's unlikely it will work in Windows.

If you don't see the boot up images then I would take a look in the computer BIOS (While connected via VGA.) and see if there are any video output options there. I assume you have an integrated GPU and that it would have BIOS settings available.

If you do see the boot up information via HDMI but not in Windows then it is most likely a driver/software issue.

Yea I don't see any splash when I boot up via HDMI, the TV will say it doesn't detect anything in the HDMI source. I haven't gone poking around much in the UEFI yet, but I guess that's my next option. I have the Asrock FM2A75M-ITX board if anyone knows what settings I should look at.

Does anyone know what the difference is between AMD all in one drivers from my motherboard manufacturer and the APU graphic drivers from the AMD website? Which drivers should I install?

Now I am able to get it to display on my TV. First, I tried testing my HDMI port using my laptop and it worked, so I disconnected the cable from my laptop and plugged it back in to my HTPC, and the image displayed! But now the image from the HDMI source makes Windows 8 look not crisp and icons/fonts look jagged. If I switched back to the VGA input, everything is smooth again. It's like anti-aliasing is on when I am using VGA and off when I'm on HDMI. It's makes the desktop background and all letters really, really jagged especially with diagonal lines.

How did you get the HDMI to work? Mine works @ the BIOS and when Windows first starts to load but then cuts out. VGA works fine.
