I downloaded sp1 for xp pro + the usb driver and am using an an35n ultra with usb 2.0 enabled in bios I still getr high speed device in non hi speed port message when I put my Kingston usg drive in the usb port thanks Chas

bump for help.

does windows tell you if you are "high speed" or not? I ask because i was playing with my flash reader that's 2.0 capable and testing to see if it really was fast. So i tried it in my computer (USB2.0) and my older PC.

I have the AN35N, simple fix for your problem. If you install XP without SP1, then install SP1, you won't have USB 2.0. You have to go into device manager, remove one thing, reboot, and it will redetect it all as USB 2.0. I can't remember if you remove a device with an exclamation point, or if you remove usb, but it was one of those.

Even after installing SP1, you have to go into device manager, right click on the driver for the USB controller, choose update and let it detect. Simply installing SP1 on your system puts the USB 2.0 high speed drivers on there but they're still not associated with the device in device manager until you take the steps above.
edit: johnjkr1 beat me to it 🙂
