I can't get this bloody thing to work.

HP mouse, MS intellimouse, nothing. I installed the drivers and all that and I'm about to lose my mind.

Is there anything I'm missing that is real easy? It's a FIC 503+ MB running win98 SE. It originally had a mouse that broke, now I can't get anything else to work in it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you tried to delete all the com ports and the serial mouse in Device Manager. Then reboot. (Use Alt-F4 to close out programs and restart.) Win98SE should autodetect and set it up for you. Also check your com port settings in bios. If all else fails, why not use a PS/2 mouse? That's what I'm doing on two 503+ mobo's at the moment.

I don't think it has a PS/2 Port, at least, I don't see one.

I dug around MS's site and I guess with serial mice the registry entries are preventing it from being detected properly since they're not plug and play.

I'll give it a shot but who knows :)

And if not, is there a place on the MB for a PS/2 connector? Well, obviously if you say you're using it, but how would I go about setting that up?
