Cannot get my computers to see one another in XP

but now that I have uninstalled network magic they will not even see the workgroup no matter what I rename the network to.
I have kapersky inet security installed on both with the firewall set to low security.
One computer sees the workgroup the other can't
one is connected (the one that sees) wirelessly while the other is connected directly through the dlink router

I tried NetMagic to see if it can be a solution to help "Network Challenged" End Users.
My reaction to it was negative.

It can save few simple steps that are part of setting a network(this helping people that desired to stay Network Ignorant to stay so).

The application alters the regular Network configuration and makes it dependent on NetMagic, if problems do occur it does nothing in solving them.

If both computers can surf then it does not natter wire or wireless and the way they are connected to the Router.

It means that the Individual sharing is not configured correctly or and the security ad ons are blocking the LAN traffic.

As a first step, get totally rid of both NetMagic and the Firewall.

Work on the sharing and only after it works reinstall the firewall.

Successful Sharing involves some general consideration in Network settings, http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html

As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what it is allowed to be shared.
