Cannot get more than AGP 1X

Title says it all. Relatively new sys with AMD t-bird 1100 @1300 (12.5x104) and Creative Labs 3D geforce 256 DDR card with the CL 634 drivers and 3D Blaster Control. I have
AGP 4X enabled in BIOS with the driving control set at Auto, but BlasterControl's Tweak page lists AGP 1X as my only option. I realize there is no real gain to be had from
AGP 4X, but I sure would like to see AGP 2X as an option! Could this be a VIA driver issue? Currently have version 4.28 installed (and I think all parts of it were accepted by the system.

Hmm, that's interesting because that's the same thing that is happening to my video card (Radeon DDR LE). But I also have the Via KT133, and have all the settings just as you have them. BUMP^ to help both of us.

Did you install the VIA drivers with "Standard" AGP or "Turbo"? You should have it set to turbo if you want to use anything more than 1X.

I wouldn't worry about it

1x,2x,4x, etc, your probably not going to get any gain. 1x is actualy more stable in many situations.

Thanks for the help, It's recognizing it in APG 4X now. Gonna do a round of 3dmark to see if it does increase the performance, and by how much

Just ran 3dmark 2k using 2X, and I saw about a 100 point increase. 4550 with 32 bit color and 4950 with 16 bit color. Thanks for the help.

I hadn't thought of that. I installed the VIA drivers in standard mode. Well, I just reckon I'll try installing them in Turbo mode. Thank you all for your input!

Yeah, I figured that the standard/turbo was your problem. You must install in turbo to get to use 2x, and then use the fix that Compellor posted a link to. That will do the trick.
