Cannot get "line-in" audio pass through in Vista w/ Bad Axe II

I'm running the retail release of Vista Home Premium on an Intel Bad Axe II mb. Intel provides a Vista driver for this boards' Sigmatel audio, and all seems to work OK - except I cannot get the line-in to "pass through" Vista to the speaker output. I see line-in input level is receiving an audio signal in Vista's sound applet, but audio does not "connect" to the speakers. The speakers outrput sound just fine when using Windows Media Player.

Anyone else with this combo experienced this problem?

Ironically, I'm having a similar problem(I have a Gigabyte DS3 & 'am using Vista Business) . . . . . I have been using my desktop to record music from my guitar. It works perfectly in Windows XP, but in Vista when I have my guitar plugged in via line in I get no audio signal at all. I've tried installing the latest audio drivers from Gigabytes website as well as Realteks. The only way I can get it to work is to use the microphone input. I'm also having problems with ASIO4all, I have to double check and make sure but I think it is NOT compatible with Vista. I use Kristal to record and mix my music if that helps anyone.
