Cannot get Assassin's Creed Valhalla to run at all...

I'm running a Gigabyte X570 Gaming X motherboard, an AMD Ryzen 3700X CPU,and a Nvidia GTX 1080.

OS is Windows 10 Pro 64-bit.

I've tried installing the game on both my 6 TB internal hard drive, and on my 12 TB external hard drive.

I bought the game from the Ubisoft official store.

I don't have a spare SSD to install the game on to try that yet.

The game acts like it's launching, and then instantly crashes to the desktop.

I'm running the 461.40 Nvidia video drivers.

Oddly enough,Assassin's Creed Odyssey runs just fine.

Which version of the MS VCRT files do I need?

I tried installing Visual Studio 2019.Nothing..still the same crash to desktop after launch.I don't even see the opening cutscene for Valhalla.

Install them all.

Techpowerup maintains a downloadable archive that contains all the MS Visual C++ Runtimes in it here. It is periodically updated as new runtimes are released, so you might want to bookmark the link for future use.

If this doesn't work, were it me I'd try rolling the Nvidia drivers back to the prior release (if you haven't already done this). A crash straight to the desktop like that just screams video driver bug.
