Cannot find file c:\windows\system32\SYSTEM.

So I kept getting this error message, or maybe it was c:\windows\system32\config\SYSTEM.
I tried booting multiple times and it always gave me this error. Then I booted off a cd to see if the files were still there and they were. I turned off the computer, moved it and plugged it in, turned it on and it booted up just fine, I have rebooted it multiple times and it seems fine.

Whats going on? Possibly bad HD?
