Every time I start up my computer (a rare occurence now that I don't have to restart in between tasks), I get an error message when logging in "cannot find the file 'C:\Program'" I click ok and everything starts with no problems. I don't have anything in any of my startup folders (in c:\documents and settings) and I can't figure out what is looking for this file, and how to disable it. It only happens when I use my personal power user setting, the Administrator is fine...wait, I found something.

I did search the forums and it brought me to a program that acts like msconfig.

I thing the file is BACKLOG.EXE in C:\program files\norton utilities\... the only problem is, I don't have any kind of norton anything installed. I cannot remove the backlog, and unchecking it adds another checked backlog. got this is a pain, any ideas?

that is one of your program that you have probably uninstall and some of the file/registry still in your system, when you uninstall something it never clean the registry for you so this that's why it just go ahead and load program even though the program is not in your HD, anyway this might help " right click on My Computer (or whatever you name it) -> manage -> double click System Information -> Software Enviroment -> Startup Programs -> look to see if any of those program that look unfamiliar or program that isn't in your computer anymore, and remove it. If you don't know how to remove it just go to start -> run type in regedit and go to this folder HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. good luck
