Hi,

I have a HP 8x4x32 and a Plextor ultraplex 40max in Win2k.

I cant convert any CD to mp3 with both Creative Playcenter 2.0 and Creative Digital Audio Center. I have the same error message no matter the type of Recording Mode :
Digital
Analog
CD SPDIF

It seems that none of these formats is supported by my CDs. In addition, I always have an error message telling my that there is no CD in the drive when I attempt to record a CD into MP3. But the drive is detected because I see them in both programs....

I remember that in WinNT40 I had to reboot my computer often because the plextor drive had some conflict with autorun. A creative or adaptec software was always asking me about the autorun but I cant find it anymore. The little software was probably enabling or disabling it and I was then able to convert CD to MP3.

I know that both drives are working because when I reboot to WinNT40 I still can do MP3 and burn CDs....

Thank you for your help

NB I want to do MP3 because I want to put all my CDs on my Nomad Jukebox.

Are you sure you have the SPDIF cord plugged into your soundcard? Can you PLAY audio cd's from your cd rom?

Damn you are right

I didnt realize that I need to plug the cable...but do I really need it to record audio ?

If that is my only problem then Il get one ASAP.

I was thinking it was a software issue but I guess it was again a 17in error
