Cannot enable hardware encoding in MediaEspresso 6.5 with R6850

Hi guys,
as the title says.
I cannot get the "enable hardware encoding" box in media espresso 6.5 settings to work. It always appears greyed out.
Now I have installed the AMD codec pack and have AMD APP installed (as far as I can tell anyway).
The "enable hardware decoding" is available and ticked.
I have disabled the onboard IGPU just in case this is causing any issues.
When I started ME it ran through a "testing hardware" setup to check if my card was capable I guess.
Any ideas?
This is my setup
Asus P8-Z68-V Pro /Gen3
MSI R6850 PE
16Gb Ram
OCZ Vertex 3 120Gb SSD
couple of spinners for data.
Cheers.
Mac.

Uh?

Doesn't MediaEspresso support QuickSync? If so don't use the 6850, the ondie gpu with your sandy cpu will destroy it and produce better imagine quality encodes.

Thanks.
Yes it does support quickSync.
I have tried using it and, although it does transcode successfully, I wouldnt say the quality was great.
So I was looking to see how it compares to the 6850 if I could get it to work!
Thanks for your input though it is appreciated.

Accelerated encoding with Media Espresso and an AMD card just passes the job onto the AMD encoder. Strictly middle of the road quality.

If you want accelerated encoding with low-end software, Quick Sync is the best quality there is.
