Alright so basicly here is the problem. I just finished building up my new computer an E6400 with a 7600GT 1 gb ram etc with a 20 inch wide screen sceptre x20 monitor. Now basicly my problem is that the resolution of 800x600 does not work. All other resolutions work EXCEPT this one. I can do 640x480 and go as low as 320x196 if i want but i cannot do 800x600. This is a problem for me only recently since i was installing new games and the default resolution it goes to is 800x600. When i load the game the monitor goes out or range. Does anyone have any solutions? By the way i am using an analog cable through a digital adaptor.

Give it a try with a digital cable - it may be the adapter's shortcoming. (Assume you are talking about a LCD monitor?)

yah its an lcd monitor...the problem is i dont have any cash for a dvi cable...yes it sounds sad but i am afterall a student and the monitor did not come with one either

another thing i noticed... i hooked up an old crt monitor and it still doesnt work...so maby it has to do with my drivers? im using nvidias latest

then try using older drivers. i still use the 84.26 version cause other versions aren't as stable on my computer and they don't offer much for my 6600 AGP.

be sure to uninstall and then use drivercleaner before you install the older drivers.

i tried revision 92.18? and it worked and actually my performance has increased significantly...my 7600gt got a 3d mark of about the same as the 7900gt mine is of course overclocked though
