cannot delete avi-files under win xp

hi,

i´m running xp for a few weeks now.
since a few days i cannot delete any avi-files i generate.
i can log in as administrator, no other user running in the backgound and no programs, background or front, that i know would use any avis.
still my system keeps telling me: "cannot delete [filename.avi]: it is being used by another program or person.
I checked the rights - all mine and i really don´t know what to do anymore.

if anybody has any idea...

When you click on a file with the Web View enabled it sets the file up to show in the middle pane. If it is buffering the file for this you will recieve this message. Try setting Explorer to classic view and see if that cures the problem. FWIW it will do the same thing with mp3 and other files as well. If you're really quick you can delete it before it starts the buffering. It can be annoying.

Deleting from the command prompt is pretty simple too and shouldn't have this problem.
