Cannot change refresh rate

Hi, Just connected my monitor up through bnc connectors, but, now changing the refresh rate in windows makes no difference, the monitor sticks to 60hz. Ive upgraded to the latest monitor drivers (v104 - monitor is an ADI G1000 running through radeon 9800 pro,4.10 cats installed) but nothing. Restarted, shutdown, checked cables etc. but nothing.

Now, if i plug in the vga cable and set to 85hz it works, switch monitor off, plug in the bnc, and im in 85hz. Restart, and it goes back.

That kind of rules out the monitor being at fault, ive also found a thread where people are having the same problem, though no answers

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Got the new control panel - anything i should pay attention to?

Ive tried refreshforce and it has the same effect as normal, the monitor just stays in 60hz - im guessing powerstrip would just do the same thing?

Don't know if this helps, but I always have to change refresh rate in the monitor tab of the ATI control panel displays menu before I can change the refresh rate in the Windows monitor tab.

Same with me, I was going to suggest this next.

BNC cables don't support DDC info, you need to go to the Displays manager in the advanced view of the CCC (Catalyst Control Panel) right click on the monitor icon and bring up device properties. In the Maximum Resolution pick your monitors MAX resolution from the drop down list, do the same with your monitor MAX refresh (note: these are each max values) and make sure use DDC information is unchecked after you hit "apply".

That should set you up.

rbv5 you are gold, that was the answer. I dont actually have the new ccc but its just layed out a bit different on mine and with random fiddling with that it just worked earlier.

Thanks for you replies.
