I have an asus vm-csm motherboard and am trying to adjust the caslatency from 2.5 to 3. When i do so, everest still reports the CAS as being 2.5. I went into the bios and set the speed manually, but its still being reported as not changed. Is it something with the board or is everest misreporting it?

Suggestion:

In Everest Home Edition, perhaps you are looking at Motherboard / SPD / Memory Timings?
Or perhaps you are looking at Computer / Overclock / SPD Memory Modules?

Instead make sure you look at Computer / Overclock / Chipset Properties / Memory Timings,
or for more complete info, go down to the bottom and run Benchmark / Memory Read / and select the report wizard in the top menu bar.

ALSO, in addition to Everest, which Lavlays has discontinued as of 1 Dec 2005, you might check out this other free alternative, which is a good replacement:
RightMark Memory Analyzer

Actually, CPU-Z is the best, small program, no installation needed and works beautifully.

Your problem is very common. Seems most BIOS writers think they are smarter than you and will override your settings. The best chance of finding a fix is a BIOS update, if enough users complain, they will usually add back REAL manual control that works.
