Cannot burn cds

I don't know when this started but my burner does not seem to be burning to cd. I've tried the windows software and nero and basically the software thinks it's burning but when the disk pops out and you try and use it, there's nothing written on it and it's seen as a blank cd. Any ideas of what coudl be wrong? I have a generic rosewill burner that shows up as 52x32. The burner has worked in the past, and it reads okay, so I'm thinking it's software. Also, the light flashes green on the burner. Shouldn't it flash yellow?
 
Have you tried reinstalling your software ?

And if this fixes it, I would immediately (if not sooner), do a diagnositc of my hard drives reliability by running manufacturers diagnostics on it.

Yeah, I tried reinstalling the software. I also have tried updating the firmware. Same problem. I've tried different media too. Doesn't work.
